Are barndominiums as nice inside as a regular home?
Absolutely. The barndo shell gives you durability and flexibility, and once the interior finishes go in, most people can't believe the transformation.
How fast can a barndominium be built?
Jennifer Vickers' barndo went from plans to a finished, move in ready home in about three months. Timelines vary with size and finish selections, but barndos are typically faster than a stick built custom home.
What's the real difference between a barndominium and a custom stick built home?
The structure. A barndo starts as a steel building shell, which is generally faster and more cost efficient to erect than traditional framing. Once the interior is finished out with the same flooring, cabinets, and fixtures as a custom home, most visitors can't tell the difference.
Can I finance a barndominium like a regular home?
Many lenders now treat barndominiums like conventional homes, but requirements vary by bank. We'd recommend talking to your lender early in the process, and we're happy to answer whatever technical questions come up about the structure.
Do I need my own floor plan, or can you help design one?
Most clients come to us with a Pinterest board and a rough idea, not a finished floor plan. We work with you to adjust a layout that fits your land and your budget before anything gets ordered.
